Essex is home to plenty of award-winning pubs and restaurants. Such is the high quality of the food, drink, and service on offer that celebrities will regularly visit our region to enjoy a bit of that success.

Stars like Harry Kane, Cheryl Cole and Harry Styles like to visit Sheesh in Chigwell; whilst the loved up pair of Jarrod Bowen and Dani Dyer, and Denise van Outen, like to visit the Dog and Pickle in Ongar.

Another Essex pub restaurant has now gained a celebrity fan with Shaw Farm in Chelmsford welcoming Ashley Banjo, star of Britain's Got Talent winning dance group Diversity.

Shaw Farm, on Wickford Road in Chelmsford, has an extensive history dating back to the 17th century, under the reign of Queen Anne. The farm was given a rare pardon to start the production of bread for the local area.

Now, Shaw Farm operates from the original farm house based in the Essex countryside. According to their Facebook page, Ashley Banjo paid them a visit on Sunday (May 14) to enjoy one of their roast dinners.

As well as having menus for the rest of the week, Shaw Farm have a dedicated Sunday Roasts menu with all their meat dishes served with ruffled garlic and thyme roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, thyme-roasted carrots, broccoli, honey-roasted parsnips and plenty of gravy.

Their Sunday Roast specific menu features a sirloin of beef (£17.50), slow-cooked pork belly (£17.25) and turkey breast (£16.25). There is also a vegetable roast (£16.25) and a Sunday Trio which features beef, pork belly, crackling, turkey and stuffing for £18.95.

Shaw Farm are ranked as the 79th best restaurant in Chelmsford according to Trip Advisor, but there are plenty of positive raving reviews about the experience of this pub restaurant.

One review said: "We have been to Shaw Farm a few times before but never on a Sunday. We tend to avoid Sunday roasts at a pub but the meal was really lovely. We went for the trio of roast and it was beautiful, really big portions.

"The kids went for the pizza and they loved it. There was a really lovely atmosphere and was lovely and cozy, our table was near the Christmas tree and open fire and got us in the mood for putting our Christmas tree up. Both of our waitresses Tash and Massie were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will be back on a Sunday!"

Another person said: "We had a table booked for 4 and we were seated straight away. We served by Karen and we can't fault the service, the restaurant was busy but we were served quickly, the roast dinners were excellent, and the eton mess was the best.

"Not sure where all the negative reviews have come from. This visit wasn't the first and wont be the last. Well done Shaw Farm, keep it up."
